Ally Advocates are recognized for their ability to leverage the Blackboard Ally tool to improve the accessibility, quality, and usability of course content for all students. An Ally Advocate will be awarded a badge and 1.0 CEUs for completing a chosen pathway in the Ally Checklist. This badge can then be shared through various platforms to show verification of completing training and criteria for course accessibility.
If you would like to become an Ally Advocate, here are the steps to get started:
- Fill out the Ally Advocate Interest Form
- Complete the tasks in the Ally Checklist
- Resources: Ally Support Page
- CEUs: You can earn 1.0 CEUs and the Ally Advocate badge by completing the tasks in the Ally Checklist by December 2, 2022.
Please direct any questions about becoming an Ally Advocate to Janet Woods, Instructional Technology Coordinator at jwoods1@harpercollege.edu.
Hello! I am interested in this project because I want my material to be more accessible for users. Are the steps to this done independent of a workshop or facilitator? Thanks!
