The Transformative Teaching Academy is a series of three Graduate Equivalency Courses which was developed in partnership with faculty from Roosevelt and City Colleges and informed by research from similar faculty development programs throughout the country.

The first course in the series, “Examine,” invites participants to examine their individual and institutional contexts to generate deeper awareness of issues related to educational inequities. The second course, “Reflect,” guides faculty through experiences for deep reflection on their course design and facilitation. The third course in the series, “Redesign,” prompts faculty to consider institutional and course-level data to identify and implement ways to redesign aspects of their course design and facilitation. The purpose of the Redesign course is to engage instructors from a variety of academic fields to unpack data on student outcomes and experiences, reflect on pedagogical approaches incorporated in their courses, and create an action plan for course redesign to better address student needs.

While we encourage participants to take all three courses in sequence, they may also choose to take individual courses in any order that aligns with their needs, interests, and schedules.
