Can Using Metacognition and Grit Help Students Succeed?
Scholarship of Teaching & Learning CoP Project
Learning is a process. Teaching and learning are interdependent. The ultimate goal is to help students develop as a learner. It is the belief of the researcher that combining metacognitive techniques with an element of perseverance (as defined by grit) will help develop a successful student. Metacognition can help students understand, internalize, and be empowered to move ahead, as well as acquire skills that will help them succeed across multiple disciplines.
